TASK: Write an informal e-mail/ letter to a friend. Imagine he/she lives in another country and you want to explain him/her what you have been doing recently. Ask him/ her in response what he/ she is doing now. Follow the structure:

2. Used to / Be used to / Get used to

Used to +  infinitive refers to a state or habit in the past:

• We used to live there when I was a child.

Be used to /Get used to + noun phrase or verb (-ing)

If you are used to something, you are accustomed to it – you don’t find it unusual. If you get used tosomething or you are getting used to something you are becoming accustomed to it – it was strange, now it’s not so strange.

• I found Slovak food very strange at first but I’m used to it now.

• I’m getting used to driving on the right.
